Early Childhood Screening

Rushford-Peterson Schools offers early childhood screening each year and is required by the State of Minnesota for entrance into kindergarten at age 5. It is ideal to screen children at age 3 1/2 or 4, but a child MUST be screened before entering Kindergarten.  If you have a child in this age range, please email Heather Grigg at .  The next Early Childhood Screening will be held on April 12th, 2024 at R-P School.

The Early Childhood Screening is a quick and simple check of how your child is doing at age 3 1/2 or 4. It identifies, at an early stage, possible health or learning concerns, so that children can get help before starting school.

All of this information gained at this screening is important for your child’s continued learning and readiness for future school success. After the screening, you will be given a full report of your child’s learning and growth. Information to support your job as a parent will also be available. You will know how your child is developing.

If you have any questions regarding the Early Childhood Screening process, please call Heather Grigg at 507-864-7786 ext 2034 or email .
