Ms. Margaret Marklowitz

Welcome!

I am happy to be in my 14h year teaching at Rushford-Peterson Elementary.  I am the K-2 Reading and Math Intervention Teacher under the ADSIS programing.

In my position, I work with students who struggle in Reading and/or Math and my goal is to prevent them from moving to Special Education Services.  My programs run 60 minutes per day for reading and 30 minutes per day for math. My program works in conjunction with the Title 1 and  the Special Education programs. In my program, I pre-teach, re-teach and help students practice skills depending on their needs.  In order to qualify a student: We assess each student in Grades K-5 in the Fall, Winter and Spring.  At that time all students are screened using testing results and information provided from teacher(s) who work with the students.   Once a criteria sheet is completed, we meet as an intervention team along with the classroom teacher to determine the needs of that student and which program will best suit their needs. Students in these programs are progressed monitored weekly and we meet as a data team once each trimester to review the progress of each student.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.   Have a great school year!
